AFS Announces FiltCon 2024 Plenary Speakers: Rigoberto Advincula, Trey Hamblet and Imad Khalek
The American Filtration and Separations Society is pleased to announce that Dr. Rigoberto Advincula of the University of Tennessee and Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Mr. Trey Hamblet of Industrial Info Resources and Dr. Imad Khalek of the Southwest Research Institute will serve as plenary speakers at FiltCon 2024, which will take place April 8-10 in Houston.
On April 8, Dr. Rigoberto Advincula will speak on the topic “Additive Manufacturing and Membranes for High Performance.” Dr. Advincula is a Governor’s Chair Professor at the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He is also a Group Leader at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Center for Nanophase Materials Sciences. He is a Fellow of the American Chemical Society (ACS), Fellow of the Polymer Science and Engineering Division (ACS), Fellow of the Polymer Chemistry Division (ACS), Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, and Netzsch NATAS 2023 Fellow. On April 9, Mr. Trey Hamblet will speak on the topic “Industrial Market Spending Outlook.” Mr. Hamblet is the Vice President of Research for the Chemicals, Petroleum Refining & Alternative Fuels Industries of Industrial Info Resources. In this position, he manages research teams that identify and track project spending in all segments of these industries globally. Additionally, he manages multiple commodity research teams tracking offline maintenance events, planned capacity additions and similar activities in the chemical, refining and energy industries. An Industrial Info employee since 1991, Mr. Hamblet also serves as the VP of Research Operations and is a member of Industrial Info’s board of directors. Read more about Mr. Hamblet here.
On April 10, Dr. Imad Khalek will speak on the topic “Particle Emissions and Quality: An Overview on Contribution of Various Sources and Future Emissions Regulations.” Dr. Imad Khalek is an Institute Engineer at Southwest Research Institute (SwRI), Powertrain Engineering Division. He has been with SwRI for 25 years and manages SwRI Particle Science & Technology activities. He is the founder of SwRI Particle Laboratory, which became the world’s first ISO 17025 particle calibration laboratory accredited by A2LA for four distinct particle number and size calibration processes. Dr. Khalek holds nine patents and has over 60 publications with numerous presentations in the public domain. He is an Associate Editor of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Journal of Engines.
