The first group of filtration professionals has earned the AFS Certified Professional (AFSCP) designation, having taken all required courses, met professional criteria and passed the AFSCP exam.
We are proud to announce the first class of AFS Certified Professionals:
- Chris Rau, Senior Technical Specialist, Engineering – Eaton Filtration
- Meagan Robinson, Key Accounts Manager, SGS – IBR Laboratories
- Narendra Saini, Luboil Filtration Systems
- Kip Vangsgard, Product Management Leader, Gessner
The AFSCP was developed with a thorough and collaborative process to respond to the growing demands of today's dynamic filtration industry. In establishing this certification, AFS helps organizations hire the most qualified managers through certification and gives individuals a set of recognized criteria to validate their qualifications and advance their careers.
“This program taught me the right questions to ask during client discussions, how to research unfamiliar methods, and communicate effectively with our engineering team. Every day I use the confidence and knowledge I gained by taking these classes and passing the exam,” said Meagan Robinson, Key Accounts Manager for SBS – IBR Laboratories. “This certification immediately lets people know that they can trust in my filtration knowledge.”
“I took the classes and the exam to get a better understanding of filtration techniques, technologies and applications, and I am happy to say that is exactly what I got,” said Kip Vangsgard, Product Management Leader for Mativ. “I encourage companies to send their employees to pursue this certification and build a solid foundation of filtration knowledge.”
The AFS Certification distinguishes professionals in the job market by highlighting their expertise and commitment to professional development. The AFS Certification will enhances personal effectiveness in working with filtration products and technologies by providing the following:
- Industry recognition of a basic understanding of filtration technology and applications
- Validation of filtration competency in the workplace
- Access to industry experts affiliated with the AFS training program
- Demonstrate commitment to training and development in your filtration career
- Ability to use the designation on letterhead, business cards, and other forms of communications
