Student Poster Competition

Call for Submissions

Students are invited to participate in FILTCON26 by submitting a poster abstract for presentation in the Student Poster Competition.

All students who submit and are accepted for the Student Poster Competition will receive a waived conference registration. 

Post-docs ARE NOT eligible to participate in the Student Poster Competition. 

The first-place winner will receive a $3,000 prize, with additional prizes of varying amounts awarded based on the competition results.

Submission Deadline:
Dec. 15, 2025

Poster Preparation

  • Poster should be printed in portrait format, 48” high x 36” wide (122 cm x 91.4 cm).

  • Poster should be printed on high-quality paper (no heavy stock) for mounting onto a soft panel using pushpins (AFS provides).

  • All materials should be prepared in advance. Proper illustration is critical to an effective presentation.

  • The use of large lettering (legible at a distance of 6’ / 1.8 m or more) and minimal text is recommended.

  • Use of colored ink in printing and colored paper in framing text can be attractive and enhance the quality of the presentation.

  • Poster should include a formal title and present information in a logical sequence.

Judging Criteria

At least two judges will conduct the scoring of student posters. Posters will be judged in four areas:

  • The clarity and the support of the stated research objective.

  • The overall organization of the poster.

  • The clarity and thoroughness of the poster oral presentation.

  • The overall originality of the poster topic.

Industry Networking Opportunities

As a student attending FILTCON26, you’re invited to join all of the networking activities, providing a unique opportunity to network with experts from academia and industry.

In addition, we are planning a dedicated round table session where students, professors, and industry professionals can connect, exchange ideas, and learn about the latest developments in the filtration and separation field. This is an invaluable chance to build relationships and gain insights from leaders across the industry.

Travel Awards

The first five professors who submit an abstract, receives approval to present at FILTCON26, and brings two students who participate in the Student Poster Competition will receive a $1,000 reward.
