Call for Abstracts & Submissions

Abstract Guidelines

We are pleased to announce the call for abstracts for our upcoming conference. This is a fantastic opportunity for professionals, educators, researchers, and thought leaders in the field to share their knowledge, research, and best practices with a broad and engaged audience.

We are looking for dynamic, informative, and innovative sessions that will inspire and ignite discussions among attendees. If you have a unique perspective, an impactful project, or insightful research that you would like to share, we invite you to submit a proposal.

Whether you are an experienced presenter or this is your first time, we welcome your contribution and look forward to your participation. Your expertise and passion help make our conference a vibrant and enriching experience for all attendees.

Abstract/Submission Formats

AFS will collect the following types of abstracts/submissions for FILTCON26.

Technical Presentations
Call for Abstracts (25-minute Presentation)

AFS seeks abstracts for inclusion as session presentations on the FILTCON26 program. As the leading conference for filtration and separations professionals, FILTCON brings together experts from industry and academia to explore solutions and innovations that shape the future of our field. This year’s theme, Energy Transition & Regulatory Compliance, will highlight the critical role filtration plays in advancing cleaner technologies and meeting evolving global standards.

Student Posters
Call for Submissions

Students are invited to participate in FILTCON26 by submitting a poster abstract for presentation in the Student Poster Competition.

All students who submit and are accepted for the Student Poster Competition will receive a waived conference registration. Post-docs ARE NOT eligible to participate in the Student Poster Competition. The first-place winner will receive a $3,000 prize, with additional prizes of varying amounts awarded based on the competition results.

Latest and Greatest Presentation
Call for Submissions (15-minute Presentation)

The Latest and Greatest Product Preview presentations will be integrated into the session tracks by topic. Product demos are a powerful way to showcase your products and services and how your company is advancing the industry.

This type of presentation is limited to corporate sponsors and corporate members.

Abstract/Submission Preparation

  1. Abstracts/Submissions will only be accepted through the online abstract/submission site
  2. For technical presentations and student posters, please use the general abstract format of background & objectives, methods, results, and conclusions. The full abstract text may not exceed 1,000 words.
  3. Abstracts with exception of Latest and Greatest Presentation category, should be technical in nature.
  4. Abstract keyword(s) must be selected during the abstract submission process (see list below).
  5. Abstracts must be submitted in English. Please use American English spelling.
  6. Tables, charts, or other graphics may not be included.
  7. The presenting author of an accepted abstract must register and attend FILTCON26.
  8. There are no submission limits per author for FILTCON26.

Review & Notification

Each abstract will be reviewed on a rolling basis by the AFS Scientific Committee. Each reviewer will receive author name(s) and affiliation(s) along with the abstract and will be asked to declare conflicts of interest with individual abstracts. Upon completion of the review, the final decision of placement within the FILTCON26 program will be made by the FILTCON Committee.

Notification of acceptance/rejection will be sent on a rolling basis via email. All notifications will be sent no later than the end of February.

The presenting author of an accepted abstract/submission, poster or platform, must register and attend FILTCON26.

Final presentations will be due by April 10, and will be reviewed by the session moderator.

Publication of Abstracts

Abstracts accepted for inclusion in FILTCON26 will be available in the event app during the conference for attendees to view, and after the conference in AFS Annual Conference Proceedings, published by Curran Associates, Inc.
