SUMMARY:Porous Metal Filters
DESCRIPTION:Mr. Mark Willingham \nPart I – Tuesday\, August 13\, from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. – CDT 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 Noon – EDT\nPart II – Wednesday\, August 14\, from from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. – CDT – 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 Noon – EDT \nFull Course (4 hours\, .4 CEUs) \n$425 AFS Members\n$495 Non-members \nAbout the course: \nThis course is designed to provide attendees with a comprehensive look at porous metal filter media available today. Attendees will learn about the physical properties and performance of woven wire cloth\, sintered wire cloth\, sintered metal fiber\, and sintered powder metal media and the applications/uses for each media. \nThe course will also address the sustainability of each medium as most are cleanable and reusable. \nLearning Objectives: \nAfter taking Porous Metal Filter Media\, the learner will understand: \n\nDescription of each media\, how it is made\, available configurations\, shapes\, sizes\, and alloys.\nPerformance data for each\, including max operating temperatures/pressures\, particle removal efficiencies\, clean and typical max pressure drops\, and dirt holding capacity.\nTypical applications where porous metal filters are used.\nCleaning and reuse best practices.\n\nOutline: \n\nPhysical description of media\nComprehensive performance data\nTraditional and emerging applications where media is used\nCleaning and recertification of porous metal filter products\n\nWho Should Attend: \nThis course is designed for people who are new to the filtration industry\, either in technical\, sales\, or business functions. It is also very good for those who have been in this industry for a while to better understand how fundamentals can be used for practical applications. \nInstructor: \n \nMr. Mark Willingham is President of Filtrate Solutions\, LLC\, a High Point\, NC-based industrial filtration consulting firm. \nBefore launching Filtrate Solutions\, he was Vice President of Sales for Purolator Advanced Filtration in Greensboro\, NC. There\, he led a global team of ~ 25 salespeople in sales/marketing industrial filtration products to primarily Fortune 500 companies in the chemical processing\, pharmaceutical\, power generation\, and oil and gas market segments. He served in various sales management roles at Purolator for 20+ years. \nHe is a past Chairman of the American Filtration & Separations Society and has served on various AFS committees since the 1990s. \nWillingham has extensive experience in all areas of sales and marketing management\, with a particular focus on new product research and launches\, developing/training/motivating sales teams\, market-based pricing\, and incentive compensation plans. \nWillingham also consults for GLG Consulting Services\, the world’s largest professional learning/consulting network. Here\, he consults with industry executives and management on topics such as market dynamics\, product research and development\, the competitive landscape for various products/markets\, and other relevant areas related to filtration.
