Gore is seeking an Applications Engineer to join its Microelectronics Filtration Business in Elkton, Maryland with a specific focus on the semiconductor and microelectronics markets.  This will be a technical product engineering role with an emphasis on applications expertise and linkage to new product development.  This associate will be a key member of the Microelectronics Filtration Business team focusing on translating leading edge filtration technology into existing and emerging applications. 

This individual will be responsible for supporting and growing the Microelectronics Filtration Business.

In this job you will:

  • Work on a team including operations, technical and business personnel.
  • Interact with both external and internal customers.
  • Provide technical support to Field Sales, Product Managers and customers.
  • Review customer requirements, lead applications development and assist in new product development.
  • Manage beta site testing of products at end user and outside testing facilities.
  • Develop a body of "fitness for use" knowledge for the products that will determine their appropriateness to their end application.
  • Provide input to Product Managers to establish pricing, competitive positioning and product fitness for use.
  • Help develop and carry out projects driven by business considerations.

Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Engineering
  • 3+ years successful experience as an applications engineer or product engineer with the responsibility of working directly with customers
  • Excellent teaming, influencing and interpersonal skills, proven ability to effectively collaborate internally and externally
  • Excellent communicator - verbal and written
  • Hands-on working style, experience in lab or field testing environment
  • Proven ability to manage priorities and multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical ideas and concepts
  • Proven ability and desire to drive projects to completion
  • A willingness and ability to travel globally up to 30% of the time
  • Experience in the microelectronics or high purity chemical manufacturing market preferred
  • General filtration and liquid process knowledge preferred

Technical Product Manager

W.L. Gore & Associates is seeking a Technical Product Manager to join its Pharmaceutical Filtration Business in Elkton, Maryland.  This will be a strategic technical marketing role with an emphasis on market segmentation and analysis.  An ongoing market analysis, along with other sources of primary and secondary information, will be used by the business team in the development of business strategy and tactics.

This individual will be a key member of the pharma filtration business team, with a focus on translating leading edge filtration technology into innovative new products.  Involvement as a core or extended team member on one or more new product development projects is anticipated.  This individual will also serve as one of the primary interfaces to the broader pharmaceutical filtration market.  Involvement/membership in professional trade organizations (PDA, ISPE, etc) and trade shows will be encouraged to stay current with market needs.

Requirements:

  • At least 10 years of recent (ending within last 0-3 years) experience in pharmaceutical filtration including technical product management, preferably with a focus on products and applications involving membrane filtration of gases and liquids in a direct/normal flow environment. 
  • Technical undergraduate degree required, life sciences or engineering preferred.
  • Graduate degree in business or a technical discipline preferred.
  • Excellent communicator – verbal and written.
