AFS Southwest Chapter held a topic meeting on Industrial Filtration and Separations with Rice Hull Ash on September 27, 2007 at the Agrilectric Research Company, Lake Charles, LA.

Two presentations on Rice Hull Ash(RHA) industrial applications, production, processing, testing, and research & new product developments were given by Dr. Ernest Mayer from DuPont and Mr. Carl Kiser, Mr. Carl Berthold and Dr. Wenping Li from Agrilectric Company.

Following the presentations were tours to the Agrilectric Separation Laboratory, Power Plant, Rice Hull Ash Processing and Packaging facility and Farmers Rice Milling rice milling process. The meeting attracted filtration and separation users, manufacturers, and professionals in the Texas and Louisiana area with 26 attendees.

Attendees enjoyed the Cajun style lunch, pleasant meeting environment, and opportunity learning and exploring the rice hull ash filtration products and their applications through the feature presentations and lab/plant tours. Dr. James Chen and Dr. Wu Chen, Chairman and Secretary of the AFS Southwest Chapter commented it as one of the most successful AFS SW Chapter meeting.
