Mid-Atlantic Chapter Meeting

The Mid-Atlantic Chapter meeting on October 25th was a great event with 27 attendees. It was at W.L.Gore's new Capabilities Center in Newark, DE. This successful meeting was hosted by Gore's Craig Rinschler and a very nice lunch was provided by the Capabilities Center staff.

A guided tour was conducted just prior to lunch of Gore's capabilities and products.

There were four presentations:

Jerry Lynch of (IFTS) International Filter Testing Services: "A New Method to Determine Particulate Filtration Efficiency of Submicron Cartridge Filters"

Ernest Mayer of DuPont: "Filter Media Testing"

Mike Raimer of W.L.Gore: "New Tubular Filter Assemblies in a Backpulse Filter"

Paul McLaine of Electrochem Water Systems,Inc. on "A New Electrostatic Water Filter"

Jerry Lynch is the immediate Past Chair of AFS and Ernest Mayer is the Chapter Affairs Committee Chair. Lew Osterhoudt, the current Chair of AFS was also present.

Those who regularly participate in AFS events realize that it is the discovery of new ideas, techniques and the relationships built that make these meetings so special.

It pays to get involved with AFS; you never know what you will learn.
