CEUs for “Short Course” Program

Wu Chen, Education Committee Chair announced at the Fall Board of Directors Meeting that AFS will now offer CEU for Short Course Attendees. CEU’s will be offered for the Short Course Program during the Fall 2005 Conference in Ann Arbor MI.

Fall 2005 Short Course Attendees were able to earn 0.7 CE’s for attending the Basic Liquid Filtration Course, and 0.4 CE’s Diesel Emission Course, and Microfiltration Membrane Course.

Proposed Short Course program for the Spring 2006 conference includes: Basic Liquid Filtration, Basic Gas Filtration, Gas/Solid Separations with Cyclones, Gas/solid Separations with Fabric Filters, Microfiltration Membrane and Practical Guide to Gravity Sedimentation. Based on the length of the course, CEU’s will be available for these programs.

According to Mr. Chen, “Offering CEU’s as part of our Short Course Program has been one of the most important goals of the Education Committee and the Society and is an important component of our mission and vision as a premier technical and educational society”.

Fall conference Short Course attendees will receive a certificate from AFS with the required CEU information.
