Royal Adhesives and Sealants LLC
Acquires Hardman Adhesives and Elastomers

South Bend, IN, June 13, 2005 - Royal Adhesives and Sealants LLC today announced the completion of its acquisition of the Hardman Adhesives and Elastomers business located in Belleville, NJ from Elementis plc (LSE:ELM). Royal is a privately held manufacturer and marketer of specialty adhesives and sealants for use primarily in industrial and commercial construction applications throughout the United States.

Hardman, which had previously been managed as part of the Elementis Specialties business, is a manufacturer and marketer of epoxy and urethane structural adhesives, electrical potting and encapsulation compounds and specialty elastomers. Hardman sells into the adhesives and sealants industry worldwide. The Hardman business will continue to be located and operated in Belleville, NJ and its employees have become employees of Royal effective today. With the addition of Hardman, Royal Adhesives and Sealants LLC, annual sales will be in excess of $75 million.
