Donaldson Company's Advanced Aircraft Filters
Help Improve In-flight Experience for Boeing Passengers and Crew
MINNEAPOLIS - October 11, 2004 - Donaldson Company Inc. (NYSE: DCI) today announced OEM approval on a new HEPA cabin recirculation filter for the Boeing 767-400, 767-200ER and 767-300ER aircraft (Part #P512764). Donaldson also announced OEM approval on an In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) filter for the Boeing 767-200 and 777-300 aircraft (Part#1986000). Donaldson's new High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) Cabin-Air Recirculation Filters improve cabin air quality by filtering airborne contaminants such as bacteria, dust, lint, pollen and smoke. Similarly, Donaldson's new IFE filter can improve in-flight entertainment equipment reliability by capturing airborne contaminants that can damage sensitive electronic components.
"Airlines are always looking for cost-effective ways to improve the overall flight experience for passengers and crew," said Sheila Peyraud, general manager, Donaldson Company. "Our HEPA cabin filters and IFE filters satisfy this need, offering superior options for improving air-quality and the reliability of entertainment equipment on all types of aircraft."
Donaldson's HEPA Cabin Air Recirculation Filters offer improved particle removal efficiency and an advanced structural design for greater reliability and longer life. The P512764 exceeds Boeing specifications for Skydrol(tm) aerosol particulate removal.
Donaldson IFE filters are designed to improve equipment reliability and lifespans for in-flight entertainment systems. The IFE filter and housing is mounted directly onto a purser station's ventilation louver assembly using simple push-button fasteners. With an estimated element service life of 800 flight hours, the IFE filter housing and elements are designated for Boeing 777-200 and 767-300 airplanes and meet all Boeing and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) performance and flammability requirements. Donaldson manufacturers a complete line of IFE filters for all Boeing aircraft.
