Donaldson Company Selected to Present at
10th Annual Diesel Engine Emissions Reduction Conference
Donaldson representatives will highlight innovative techniques for reducing emissions
MINNEAPOLIS - Aug. 23 - Leading emissions experts from Donaldson Company Inc., (NYSE: DCI) will present strategies and techniques for reducing emissions at the 10th annual Diesel Engine Emission Reduction(DEER) conference. DEER is a symposium for the diesel engine industry sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy.
Donaldson's two presentations will review new techniques and strategies for best managing Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) regeneration - the process of removing the combustible portion of collected soot from diesel-particulate filters, which reduces harmful emissions.
The first presentation, "Development of an Active Regeneration Diesel Particulate System," introduces Donaldson's new exhaust emission control system. The second presentation, "A New Computational Fluid Dynamics Model for Understanding and Managing Diesel Particulate Filter Regeneration," highlights recent Donaldson advancements in the analytical modeling of regeneration.
"The DEER conference is unique for our industry because it invites representatives from a diverse range of sectors related to diesel engines to meet and share essential knowledge and strategies for further improving the
economics and environmental impact of diesel engines," said Ted Angelo, director of emissions product development, Donaldson Company. "The conference attracts some of the best researchers and strategists in the
industry with attendees from leading universities, government agencies and diesel-engine manufacturers. This is a unique opportunity to participate in the conference alongside leading experts from around the nation and showcase Donaldson's new Active Regeneration Diesel Particulate Filter System. This important new system technology will operate where passive DPF systems will not, thus greatly expanding the application of high-efficiency DPFs to a broad range of diesel engine applications."
The DEER conference focuses on new developments in diesel engine research, advances in the understanding of the combustion process and important studies on the impact of emissions on the environment. The conference
will be held Aug. 29 through Sept. 2 at the Loews Coronado Bay Resort near San Diego, Calif.
