Bopp's Sintered Mesh Certified "Food Safe"
Stainless steel’s corrosion resistance, cleanability and sterilization properties makes it a preferred material and widely used for food and pharmaceutical applications. Stainless steel contains certain heavy metals, i.e., Cr, Mn, Mo, Ni, as alloy to impart the corrosion resistance.
Detailed information and representative samples of Poremet and Absolta were provided to RCC, an independent laboratory in Switzerland for migration tests (Study No. A29981). Migration of heavy metals from stainless steel cloth in water and 3% acetic acid was determined at 100oC. Per RCC, “the extent of migration of any heavy metals from the wire cloth per liter of food stimulant is far below any limits applying to drinking water”. Poremet and Absolta (including its welded seam) were confirmed safe to use in contact with any type of food under all usual time and conditions.
Bopp’s wire mesh begins with raw materials from wires drawn in-house permitting 100% traceability and quality control. ISO 9001: 2000
