World Filtration Congress 9 (WFC9) Overview

The World Filtration Congress is a quadri-annual world
event. Sponsored in 2004 by the AFS, the event was held in
New Orleans, April 18-22nd.

This was the first World Congress hosted in the United
States since the World Filtration Congress 3 was held in
1982 at Downingtown, PA. The attendee list consisted of the
global who’s who of the filtration industry.

Immediately preceding WFC9 were four AFS Basics in
Filtration short courses covering the topics of liquid and
air filtration, centrifuge and automotive filtration.

The four day conference hosted over 600 attendees and 300
papers were presented. Fully, one half of all the attendees
were from one of 38 foreign countries. This was truly an
international conference and a diverse cultural experience.

During the 3-day International Exposition a number of the
AFS Corporate Sponsors and exhibitors, especially those with
booths featuring equipment and catering to end-users,
reported record number of leads and the best filtration
Exposition they had experienced in some time.
