AFS 2007 Annual Conference
In 2007, WQA Aquatech USA will co-locate their Annual Conference with the 2007 AFS Conference & Exposition at the Orlando Convention Center in Orlando, FL. Both the 2006 and 2007 events follow the 2005 AFS Annual Conference & Exposition last year where AIChE co-located their Annual Conference with the AFS in Atlanta, GA.
The AFS made a strategic change in direction in 2003, when the AFS board of directors approved inviting trade organizations with membership largely consisting of specifiers, buyers or users of filters and/or separation products and systems to join AFS Annual Conferences & Expositions.
By way of background, AFS Corporate Sponsors and exhibitors lobbied the AFS to initiate this change to enable them to meet more buyers and end-users of filters and separations systems.
According to Scott Yaeger, 2005 AFS Chairman, “The new focus adds considerable momentum and serves AFS educational purposes, as a large percentage of the co-location organizations members have vested interest in meeting filter and separation suppliers and attending AFS educational programs.” Scott Temple, Industry Vice President, Reed Expositions, sponsor of Powder & Bulk Solids 2006 and Peter Censky, Executive Director of the Water Quality Association (WQA) separately expressed their interest to Scott Yaeger and members of the AFS Executive Committee, verbalizing the mutual advantage of linking with the AFS.
Scott Yaeger added “The AFS is now hitting its sweet spot and expects enhanced Corporate Sponsor and exhibitor participation at future events. Total attendance at each of the co-located 2006 and 2007 AFS Conferences & Expositions will easily surpass attendance at any previous AFS Conference & Exposition.”
