POSITIONS TO BE FILLED

Every year the AFS Society elects a 2ndVice Chair and six members of the Board of Directors.  The elected 2ndVice Chair will become the AFS 2ndVice Chair for 2013, 1st Vice Chair for 2014 and the AFS Chair in 2015.  For elected members of the Board of Directors, the term of service will begin at the AFS Fall 2012 Board of Directors Meeting or November 30, 2012, which ever is sooner, for a term of two years.

PROTOCOL AND SCHEDULE

This year nomination forms are to be returned to the AFS Headquarters using the enclosed nomination form.  The form may be copied as needed. The nominee, the nominator and seconder must sign the nominations. Please give considerable thought in for your nomination—seek out the underachiever member—use your soft skills to draw them into the Society. Move quickly as we are under a very tight deadline requiring quick turnaround. 
Important dates:
March 1, 2012, Nomination forms are due in the AFS Administrative Office
March 15, 2012, Balloting will begin
May 31, 2012, Ballots must be received in the Administrative Office by midnight!
June 6, 2012, Results announced at the Board of Directors Meeting in Louisville, KY.

ELIGIBILITY

The only requirement for nomination is the nominee must be a current 2012 member of the American Filtration & Separations Society.  (A current member is defined as having paid dues for 2012.)  Previous experience in a local AFS chapter, service on the Board of Directors, activities related to AFS Conferences or serving on an AFS Committee is helpful.

COMMITMENT IS NECESSARY

All positions require assuming responsibilities.  Therefore, each candidate is expected to be professionally organized, so as to have availability to attend meetings of the Society and the Board of Directors, to serve on committees, attend local chapter meetings, respond to all communications without delay, enthusiastically endorse all of the activities of the society, and to recruit Corporate Sponsors and Individual members.
